Then and Now and special "friends"

The first two pictures are of Jachin.  The second two are of Josiah.
They were both around 21 months old in their "then" pictures.  These are the first pictures we saw of our little boys.  They are now 4 1/2 years old, and these pictures were taken about 5 minutes before I posted this.  They were not happy about having to sit in the chair and take a picture, because they were trying to watch Lady and the Tramp.  Lesson #535? never interrupt a kid in the middle of their movie.  Anyway, they are sitting with their favorite "friends".  When we brought them home from Russia, Jachin immediately attached to his Puppa.  It was given to them from the couple who inspired us to go to Russia.  They had adopted two children from Russia themselves.  We had been very unsure about which direction to go regarding adoption.   After meeting with this couple and their two kids at their home, we got into our car and both admitted that for the first time we felt a peace about where to adopt.  So, Puppa is special to Jachin, but truth be told,  Puppa is special to all of us.  (The real Puppa is the one who looks like he has been well loved.  I found another one at a yard sale and gave it to Jachin.  The brown dog is Puppa's mommy.  :)
Josiah is holding his TiTi and White Doggie.  Greg and I gave that little blanket to him while we were in Russia, and he still sucks his thumb and holds it the same now as he did then.  I bought new TiTi's for him, but he wants the one with his "dirty spot", as he calls it.  The white dog was given to them by Greg's uncle at their first Thanksgiving in the USA.  He latched onto it, and it became his.  He has slept with it and loved it ever since.  There's so much more to say about "then and now", but that's all I'll talk about today, because "Then" my house was clean and "Now" it needs to be cleaned...:)   So off I go.....

  1. amazing. How the time has flown between then and now. Puppa and Titi look like they are well loved. Is that a new chair they're sitting on? Very nice.
