Greg, Me (Rebekah), Jen & Jeff (Greg's brother)
My sister-in-law, Jen, told me not to post a picture of her on facebook....Well...this isn't facebook, so sorry, Jen, you didn't say not to put it on my blog....hee, hee!
Jeff, Jen and their 3 boys came for a visit over New Year's weekend. We had a wonderful time, and the kids had a blast together. Here's a picture of all the cousins (thus far) on Greg's side of the family.

We hadn't seen Jeff and Jen since last Christmas, so we had a lot of catching up to do. One of the most wonderful things about our time together was sharing how God has moved all of our hearts to care for orphans and to adopt. I have felt alone many times when it comes to adoption and orphan care. It isn't that people don't "care". It's that I often feel that some people think it is just "our thing", and they do the obligatory listening when we talk about God's heart for the orphan and the Church being God's hands, feet and heart to care for orphans. So, to be able to fellowship with like- minded family members, who deeply care about living radically and sharing the love of Christ to others, including and especially to vulnerable, helpless, voiceless orphans, gave me renewed hope and passion. God is working in the Body of Christ. He is mobilizing the Church to care for precious children. To Him be all glory and honor and praise! |
I've felt the same thing many times. That's one of the reasons I've really loved blogging. I've actually gotten to "meet" others who are on the same page in regards to adoption. It's been a great encouragement!
