to discover taste than with chocolate chip cookies? So, during school we made chocolate chip cookies. However, in order to understand taste, I made them try each ingredient separately (except for the eggs) before we added it to the mix. I didn't take pictures while they were trying ingredients, but it did make me laugh. Josiah did NOT like the flour AT ALL. In fact, he made me move the container of flour so he couldn't even smell it (does flour have a smell?). Jachin always eats everything, so nothing grossed him out.
Of course their favorite part was when all the ingredients were mixed together, and they could lick the beaters. (I got the spoon...and about 3 cookies worth of cookie dough...
Yes, I should be on the treadmill right now working off that dough!)
Here they are "helping" me drop cookie dough onto the pans. I only had them help for a short
time - they got more on their fingers than on the pans.
And, of course, they couldn't wait to eat the cookies. Here are the boys eating one more cookie before bed. They usually have yogurt before bed, but sometimes the rules must be broken.
Next we learn about the sense of smell....hmmm....wonder what we'll do.
What a great idea! I'm going to have to try that as a class project. Thanks!
