Tag! You're It!!!
I have never been blog tagged before, but mamamargie over at Hand Prints on My Heart tagged me, and I thought it would be fun to play along too.
First, the rules!
Rule #1: The tagged person must write their answers on their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.
Rule #2: Tag 4 people to do this quiz; they cannot refuse (OK, so nothing bad will happen if you don’t participate but I would love to see your answers). The tagee must state who tagged them.
Now, for the questions...
1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals or are they members of your family?
We do not have pets. I'm not interested in another mess to clean up right now. If we did have a pet, they would be the beloved "Pet" of the family. We would love them and spoil them, but they would never rank up there with my children.
2. If you could have a dream come true, what would it be?
That's a tough one. I have lots of dreams, but my biggest dream would be that there would be no orphans, no hurting child, no child left unloved. In other words, everyone would Love Jesus and Love others.
3. What would you do with a billion dollars?
Easy...I would use it to try to accomplish my dream...see ques. #2. I know that this world is broken with sin, and that in reality not everyone is going to love Jesus and love others, but I hope that I would use what God has given me now and use a billion dollars the same way, to love Jesus by loving others.
4. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood?
My children's smiles. How can I resist that? (Oh, and a cup of coffee!)
5. What is your bedtime routine?
I usually have to force myself to get off the couch after falling asleep on the couch. I get a little water, wash up, check on the boys, and kiss my husband goodnight. Most nights we pray together before we go to sleep, but there are times when I'm already out. :0
6. Name something that has surprised you this week about motherhood.
Hmmmm.....This hasn't surprised me this week, but being a mom has given new meaning to "I would
give my life for you". I would give my everything for my kids!
7. What kind of books do you read?
I love true stories. I also love books that challenge my faith, challenge me to think more and be more
like Christ. One of my favorite books of all time is Tramp for the Lord by Corrie Ten Boom. She is
a hero of the faith that I can read over and over and continue to be challenged.
8. How do you see yourself in 10 years?
Lord willing, with more children and loving and serving my family. I also hope to be a stronger voice for orphans and adoption.
9. What’s your fear?
Losing my child or having our children lose us, their mom or dad.
10. Would you give up all junk food for the rest of your life for the opportunity to see outer space?
I have no desire to see outer space except for what I can see while standing on earth or through pictures.
I don't even like to get on an airplane, but God has asked me to do that to bring our children home. So...uh...no, I'll keep the junk food.
11. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Every morning our boys come to our bedroom and lie down with us before we all get up. Then I go to the kitchen and make Coffee. Yes, I do rely on my coffee in the morning. Good, bad or indifferent, I have had no desire or motivation to give that up. We have breakfast together every morning, and Greg reads from the Bible and the boys practice their memory verse. I love our mornings!
12. If you could change one thing about your significant other, what would it be? Or, if you’re single - if you could choose a significant other who looked like anyone in the world, who would it be?
I think I'll plead the fifth on this one. :) None of us are perfect, and I love him just the way he is...with his imperfections and mine. :)
13. If you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be?
My name is fine. I just don't like being called Becky, so I would keep my name and have everyone call me by it!
14. If you had to choose between six months of sun or six months of rain, what would you choose?
Would anyone ever choose six months of rain? SUN! Definitely!
15. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be?
One thing? I guess I couldn't survive on Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, so I'll choose veggies, any
veggie...I love them all.
16. What is the thing you enjoy about blogging the most?
I LOVE other adoptive mom bloggers! There is an instant connection. I love their hearts, thoughts and seeing what God is doing in other people's lives.
17. Do you prefer salty or sweet foods?
Sweet and salty. I know...not the question. It just depends on my mood.
18. What items are in your purse right now?
Wallet, phone, receipts, pens, lip gloss, Blistex, tickets for the zoo for tomorrow, some personal items,
19. If you had to choose between vacationing at the beach or in the mountains where would you go?
This is a no brainer...I would choose the beach every time! Our family loves going to the beach, and we
really try to go once a year. The boys ask about it all year long.
20. What do you watch on television?
We only have the basic channels on Tv. I like American Idol, and have watched it since season one. Other than that, there is nothing that we watch regularly. My boys like watching some of the PBS morning cartoons.
Now, it's my turn to tag someone else. The following is a list of fascinating people who inspire me and whom I wouldn't mind getting to know better. :)
Natalie at 5 Million Minus 1
Allison at In A Land Far, Far Away (She was praying for our boys before we even knew about them!)
Amy at Adventures of Mama Dirtyfoot (We met them in Russia. We were both on the adoption journey)
We were also married on the same day, same year, and celebrate our 9th anniversary in Russia.
I was going to tag Candice from To Make Him Known, but they are on their way to Ethiopia. Blessings to your family, Candice!
I don't like tagging people, because I don't like leaving people out. So...if you read this and want to do it...Please do!
You're ALL tagged!
Great answers, Rebekah! Enjoyed reading this and getting a glimpse of your life. Love how you start your morning with your boys and Bible reading. Great start to the day! :)
