Paying for Adoption

I really hesitated to post something about the cost of adoption, but here I am typing away, and not entirely sure what I am going say.  Why did I hesitate?  Well, two main reasons kept swirling around in my head.

1.  We have had people tell us that we should not be adopting unless we have ALL of the funds necessary for the adoption.  WE DISAGREE!  God owns the cattle on a thousand hills.  He provided amazingly for the boy's adoption, and He will provide again...probably differently, but He WILL!!!
2.  We have had people tell us that there are thousands of foster care kids in the States; why would we go overseas to adopt and pay all that money?  WHY?  Because we are following the Lord's leading in our lives.  He is pleased when we walk this life in faith and go where He leads.

So, why am I posting about the cost of adoption?  Probably because for the last few days it has weighed heavily on my mind.  I have been trying to think of ways that we can raise money.  We will be having a yard sale in the spring.  I've been looking at a Yahoo fundraising blog online to get some ideas, but nothing jumps out at me as the right things for us to do.  I really, really hate to ask for anything, and I hate to impose on others.  And Greg hates it more than me.  Trying to think of a fundraiser that doesn't impose on others is, well, I've found impossible so far.  Perhaps I'll find one beyond the yardsale. 

If anyone has ideas for us..please share!  In the meantime, we continue to walk this road of faith and take one step at a time, knowing that our sovereign, faithful God will provide in His perfect time.
