Yesterday morning in church I sat still in the pew, though at times I wanted to raise my hands and jump for joy and other times I wanted to fall on my knees in humble adoration for my God; I was silent, though I wanted to shout "Hallelujah"; I quickly dried tears that formed, though I wanted to let them flow.
I only wish that you all could have heard the sermon that I heard from one of our Associate Pastors. There is much that I could say about this Pastor and his family, but he would not want to be elevated. He would want the One that he adores to be elevated.
II Corinthians 5:14&15, "For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again."
I was reminded of what Christ truly did for me on the cross. I was reminded that there is no love that compares; there is no sacrifice that gives more than what Christ gave. And because of that utter love and sacrifice, I am no longer bound to live for self.
My friends, we are here on this earth for a very short while, and then we, who know Christ, spend eternity with our Beloved Savior in heaven. Should we not live every second for Christ and His glory? Oh that I would cling to the Gospel daily and "make it my aim to be well-pleasing to Him?" (II Cor. 5:9) For He came "not only to rescue us, but to make us a new people to live for Him".
I cannot fully express the heart of the sermon here in my blog. If any of you would like to hear it, please email me and I will make sure you get to hear the message that made me want to shout Hallelujah, get on my knees in humble adoration and cry tears of joy.

How wonderful! I would definitely be interested in hearing it. My email address is margieseely @ yahoo . com.
