Well, I've said previously that I am an open book, but my Greg is more private. So, at times there are things that I want to write about in my blog that Greg is not comfortable sharing. I wanted to share the story of how God worked in our hearts, preparing us for our girl. Greg prefers that I do not share the whole story on the blog. So...feel free to ask us privately (when you have time) and I'll (very excitely) share how God worked! He is SO amazing!
Confirmation!
I want to mention something about her name. We received her referral around 12:20 in the afternoon. That morning at breakfast Greg and I talked about names. We hadn't discussed names for a long time, but I asked him if we could share some names that we each liked. There were about 3-4 boy's names that we agreed on. However, after coming to the conclusion that once again we cannot come up with a girl's name, I told him that there is one Ethiopian girl's name that I have heard that I really like. (I'm not supposed to put identifying information on my blog about our girl until after we are approved at court, so I'll wait to share her Ethiopian name) Would you believe that the name that I had mentioned to Greg just that morning is her given Ethiopian name? Her name means "pearl"- our little pearl. We will keep her Ethiopian name as her middle name.
Also, our girl was born the same weekend that we did the fundraising concert to help bring her home.
Confirmation! I had asked God to give us confirmation that we had made right decisions, and that the decision to adopt one child right now was His plan. I feel that God answered our prayer for confirmation in those two ways. Amazing!
After we received her referral and I composed myself, I turned on our Christian radio station, and the song that just started playing was "Children of God" by Third Day. Well, I laughed and started crying again. You can hear the song if you scroll down. I had posted it on my blog on March 9.
I'm soooo excited for you! And I'm just dying to know the whole story!!!! I understand Greg not wanting you to share it so publicly, but I just LOVE to hear how God works! Doing a happy dance for you!!! :)
